Can I book for only one day?

Yes. There is no minimum enrolment — a single day, or even a few hours, is completely fine.

Do I need to register in advance?

No long-term registration is required. Reserve your dates ahead of time, or on shorter notice when space allows.

How far in advance should I book?

Earlier is better, as each booking is prepared individually, but we do our best to accommodate short-notice requests.

We are open daily from 7:00 to 20:00.

We welcome children from six months of age up to around ten years old.

Do staff speak English?

Yes. From your first inquiry to pickup, our team communicates clearly in English.

Can children with allergies join?

Yes. Please tell us in advance and we will plan around your child's needs.

What should we bring?

A change of clothes and anything that helps your child feel at home. We provide the rest.

We are in Yamashina, Kyoto — a short walk from Yamashina Station. The exact address is shared with you when you book.

Can we book the same day?

We work by reservation. Same-day requests are welcome when we have availability.

What happens if our child cries?

Our caregivers stay close, patient and reassuring until your child feels settled.

You return to the agreed location at your chosen time and our staff hand your child back to you.

One-day and short-term childcare in Kyoto.

Some days you only need a few hours. Marble Childcare Kyoto is a drop-in service — you can book for an afternoon, a single day, or across your whole stay, without any long-term registration.

Book only what you need

There is no membership and no minimum enrolment. Reserve the hours that fit your itinerary — a morning at Fushimi Inari, a long lunch, a full day of sightseeing — and collect your child when you are done.

Because every booking is prepared individually, we recommend reserving your dates in advance. When space allows, shorter-notice requests are welcome too.

What your child does while you explore

A drop-in day is still a real day. Children take part in simple Japanese cultural activities, creative play, outdoor time in nearby parks, and a relaxed snack break — all in a warm, English-speaking environment.

We welcome children from six months to around ten years old, and adapt the day to each child.

We are in Yamashina, Kyoto — a short walk from Yamashina Station and about five minutes from Kyoto Station by train. Open daily, 7:00–20:00.
